Middle Donor Development Specialist position: This position is primarily responsible for building warm, positive relationships with donors in the middle range of gift size that result in increased giving by amount and frequency. Qualification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship activities will include telephone, email, mail, fax or other media preferred by the donor. Record-keeping in the donor data base of all activities and their results will be completed daily. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. -Conduct systematic and regular communications with donors based on current organization messaging in cycles defined by the program coordinator and sensitive to the giving pattern and preferences of individual donors. Delivers messages with passion for the mission and in emotional terms. -Take appropriate actions from among a select list of activities and messages to create a stream of positive information to encourage and inspire donors. Builds rapport and raises awareness. -Time solicitations according to cycles of giving, organizational need and donor preference or history. -Record information gleaned from donor conversations and enter research notes in the database. -Record all actions taken. Maintain a constantly evolving plan of actions specific to each donor or groups of donors. -Coordinate plans of work with coordinator and other staff so that materials and messages meet current messaging and quality standards. Education and Experience: -High school degree or equivalent. -Five years related experience in a paid position in outbound direct personal contact with donors, consumers, clients or others served is required -Exceptionally pleasant speaking voice, including proper tone, volume, diction, pronunciation, grammar and flow is required. -Telemarking experience is preferred. -Exceptional listening skills are required. -Experience with customer database is required. Raisers Edge is preferred. -Experience with Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word and Excel is required Compensation: The middle donor specialist(s) work up to a 30-hour week. Starting hourly rate is $16 to $18 per hour. Daily start and end times are set by the middle donor coordinator in consultation with the specialists according to their availability and organizational work flow needs. Benefits are not included.
