| Description: | What We Offer The Planned Parenthood of Illinois (PPIL) Development Department works to raise contributed revenue in support of the mission and services for PPIL. As a statewide organization with 17 health centers, the Development Department uses many strategies to engage donors and raise revenue, including direct mail, foundations, planned giving, and special events. Major gifts are responsible for raising significant revenue to reach overall fundraising goals and are the focus of this internship. The Development Intern will work with the Manager of Individual Giving and Director of Major and Planned Gifts to create and research activities for the major gifts program. The Major Gifts Intern will develop a system to move all PPIL hard file and electronic research materials to the new database. While working on this project, the major gifts intern will be exposed to the moves management cycle as the major gifts team qualifies, cultivates, solicits, and stewards major donors. Internship Highlights: - Assist in planning, organizing and preparing a major gifts appeal - Help maintain and update electronic database of donors and giving history - Learn about the philanthropic climate of Chicago and reproductive healthcare What We Ask: - Interest and/or experience with non-profit fundraising - Superior organizational and communication skills - Ability to work both independently and as part of a team - Willingness to help where needed - Commitment of at least 10 hours a week through the fall semester Location PPIL Administrative Office 18 South Michigan Ave, 6th Floor Chicago, IL 60603 Hours Shifts available Monday through Friday, 9 am - 5 pm |
