| Description: | Full Time Salary/Pay Rate: $47,175 - $67,000 DOQ (NVII/Non-Exempt) General Job Responsibilities and Requirements: Under general supervision, the police officer performs a variety of routine and complex public safety work in the performance and administration of police patrol, investigation, traffic regulations, citizen assistance, and related law enforcement activities. The Department is seeking qualified applicants who are interested in furthering their career in a dynamic, service oriented department where personal and professional growth are encouraged. The Breckenridge Police Department practices a community policing philosophy and recruits officers who demonstrate effective communication and problem resolution skills that will complement our commitment to build and maintain strong relationships with the community. Qualified applicants will be POST certified or certifiable, and have a minimum of 60 semester credits of higher education at an accredited college or university. Credit hours earned at the Police Academy count towards the 60 hours. Candidates will be selected based on a combination of both education and experience. If selected to interview, candidates will be expected to participate in a ride-a-long and oral interview. Candidates who are selected to proceed will participate in integrity interview, polygraph, psychological, and thorough background check.
