| Description: | NARAL Pro-Choice America seeks to hire a development intern with an immediate start date. The Development Intern will provide critical administrative, major gifts, and special events support to members of the Development Department. This internship is a paid position. Responsibilities: Administrative Support -Assist with the management of development-related travel arrangements for President, Development Director and additional Development staff when appropriate. -Assists in the assembly of quarterly updates to the Boards. -Manage the travel schedule of Development Director and key development staff. Major Gifts -Offer critical support for donor visit preparation such as managing travel schedule and assembling materials and briefing books. -Provide key support for major donor fundraisers such as receptions, house parties, cultivation events and larger national events. -Assist with preparations for major donor call time. -Be responsible for keeping all donor records up to date and accurate. -Carry out extensive donor research and profile creation for current and prospective major donors. Foundation Support -Assist with foundation and donor network research. -Help with maintenance and updating of foundation accounts. -Help with foundation program hard file maintenance. Event Support Assists with special event logistics, with a focus on: -Updating guest registration, seating information and related data entry. -Follow-up outreach (via phone, email, fax, etc.) to elected officials and honorary committee members and tracking of responses. -Work to secure silent auction and raffle items. -Work with the Special Events Manager to increase student attendance at events. -Assist with fundraising calls and follow up. Qualifications: - B.S. or B.A. degree required. -Some experience working with development department preferred. -Up-beat, outgoing, positive attitude required. -Excellent verbal and written communication skills to include strong writing, spelling and grammatical skills. -Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail. -Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and handle multiple priority tasks simultaneously. -Demonstrated success in taking initiative to accomplish tasks. -Superior interpersonal skills and ability to exercise independent judgment and good discretion. A high degree of diplomacy and confidentiality is required. -Computer proficiency in MS Office, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and web-based research. -Commitment to NARAL Pro-Choice America's mission and goals. |
