State Net, a LexisNexis company is the largest and oldest state legislative/regulatory reporting service. Currently we are seeking bright individuals to learn to categorize pending legislation and regulations from the 50 states. We offer a friendly environment, and provide training. Excellent reading comprehension skills with a strong ability to interpret complex and often confusing legislative and regulatory documents. In depth knowledge of current affairs and how that translates into public policy. Candidates with political science, public policy, library science degrees or legislative tracking experience are encouraged to apply.
Legislative Screeners are responsible for the review and categorization of state legislation and regulations in a variety of subject areas. Ideal candidates will have a broad understanding of current affairs and can apply that knowledge to the reading, understanding and categorizing of legislation and regulations on both the state and federal level.
These are contract positions. The rate is $10 an hour to start. These positions are Monday through Friday, up to 40 hours per week, through April 2013.
