| Description: | Salary: $19.19 - $26.02 Hourly Location: Gainesville, FL The City of Gainesville is looking for a Code Enforcement Officer who is responsible for inspection work enforcing compliance with City Ordinances pertaining to land use / zoning, housing maintenance, landscaping, nuisance properties, abandoned vehicles and related ordinances within the Neighborhood Improvement Department. To be considered for this position you must have graduated from high school or possess acceptable equivalency diploma, and have three (3) years of experience in Code Enforcement, Law Enforcement or an equivalent enforcement position. Licenses/Certificates -Must acquire, within twelve (12) months of hire into the Code Enforcement Officer position, certification at level I by the Florida Association of Code Enforcement (FACE). Must maintain certification, throughout employment, by receiving required continuing education units. -Valid Florida Driver License and safe driving record required at time of employment. -Applicants must have no conviction of a felony or a misdemeanor involving moral character, perjury, or making false statements; nor after July 1, 1981, have pled guilty or nolo contendere to, or have been found guilty of any such crimes.
