The Center works across the globe on issues including access to life-saving obstetrics care, contraception, abortion services and comprehensive sexuality information, as well as the prevention of forced sterilization and child marriage. It has brought groundbreaking cases before national courts, UN committees and regional human rights bodies. It has built the legal capacity of women's rights advocates in more than 50 countries.

In addition to a headquarters in New York City, the Center has offices in: Washington D.C.; Bogota, Colombia; Kathmandu, Nepal; Nairobi, Kenya; and Geneva, Switzerland. It employs more than 100 professionals from Chile, Colombia, Croatia, Kenya, Korea, Nepal, Nigeria, the Philippines, Slovakia, Sweden and the US.
CRR seeks a Program Associate who will support the office of the Global Legal Program (GLP) Director and will report to the GLP Director and the Legal Adviser and Manager of Projects and Operations. The position will be based in New York.

Responsibilities:

The Program Associate's main responsibilities will include:

-Providing administrative support to the office of the director, including faxing, researching, word processing, maintaining files, maintaining calendars, scheduling meetings, making copies, sending mail, drafting correspondence, updating database records, processing check reimbursements and wire transfers, and making travel arrangements.
-Supporting the office of the director on management-related projects, including coordination of program planning, monitoring and evaluation, and strategic plan implementation, and coordinating internal and external meetings, including International Litigation Advisory Committee and cross-departmental working group meetings.
-Drafting, editing, and proofreading institutional documents as needed, including board reports and other internal memos.
-Maintaining correspondence for the office of the director (with NGO partners, consultants, GLP's priority contacts, and others) and responding to information requests.
-Liaising with other departments. The Program Associate serves as point person between GLP and other departments, including the US Legal Program, Government Relations, Development, Finance & Administration, and the President?s Office.
-Assisting the office of the director in coordinating the annual budget process. Managing the GLP Administrative budget on a quarterly basis. Keeping GLP informed of budget process-related matters. Assisting regional directors and assistants with developing program budgets.
-Orienting new staff. Providing support and periodic training to new Legal Assistants as necessary.
-Carrying out such other duties as may be directed by the office of the director.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

-B.A. degree or foreign equivalent is required.
-3-5 years? experience in an administrative position in a non-profit setting is preferred.
-Excellent computer skills with Excel, Word and Outlook, and use of email.
-Excellent writing and research skills.
-Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
-Ability to take initiative when managing administrative projects.
-Ability to balance multiple tasks and coordinate with different organizational departments.
-Commitment to reproductive rights and women's human rights issues.
-International experience desirable.
-Knowledge of United Nations and/or regional human rights system is a plus.
-Proficiency in Spanish is a plus.

Duration of Position:

This is a permanent full-time position beginning May 2013.
