| Description: | What We Offer The Planned Parenthood of Illinois Third Party Billing Department works to ensure that insurance billing is transmitted in an accurate and timely manner. As part of this goal, we verify insurance benefits before a patient is seen in our health centers. The Insurance Billing Intern will work closely with the Director of 3rd Party Billing and the Coordinator of Billing and Collections to review, analyze, and recommend ways to be more efficient in getting insurance information. The internship project with culminate in creating a tracking system to maintain payment plan accounts. This also includes a presentation to the insurance department. Internship highlights: - Gain experience working in financial administration for a non-profit organization - Gain an understanding of the Electronic Practice Management system, NextGen - Create a tracking system to maintain payment plan accounts What We Ask - Belief in and support of the Planned Parenthood mission - Interest and / or experience in accounting or financial administration - Superior organizational and analytical skills - Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel - Commitment of 10 -15 hours per week for the summer Location PPIL Administrative Offices 18 S. Michigan Ave., 6th Floor Chicago, IL 60603 Hours Hours are flexible, with shifts available Monday through Thursdays 9 am to 5 pm, Fridays 9 am - 2 pm Apply Please apply online at www.ppil.org under the "volunteer" section.
