| Description: | Since the early 1980s, NARAL Pro-Choice Montana has been the leader in protecting reproductive rights and safe-guarding a woman's right to choose in Montana. As the political arm of the pro-choice movement, NPCM has a singular goal: to keep abortion safe, legal and rare for Montana women. NPCM works diligently to help elect pro-choice politicians, and to defeat anti-choice politicians and legislation. Our mission is to support and protect, as a fundamental right and value, a woman's freedom to make personal decisions regarding the full range of reproductive choices through the electoral process, legislation, education, training, organizing, legal action, and public policy. We are currently seeking a dynamic, energetic, enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and fiercely pro- choice executive director to lead the organization into the future. These are trying times for choice; our neighbor to the east, North Dakota recently implemented a law that bans virtually all abortions. In Montana, the legislature is set to pass three bills that will severely restrict women's access to abortion. Reproductive freedom is a basic human right, without which women cannot have complete autonomy over their lives. NPCM does not equivocate in fighting to preserve that autonomy. CANDIDATE PROFILE The executive director reports directly to the Board of Directors, and is responsible and accountable for managing the political, programmatic, fund raising, and financial operations of the organization. The successful candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience in the political, fundraising, and organizational arenas. In addition, the successful candidate will have a commitment to engaging a diverse pro-choice audience, with an emphasis on cultivating young people as a primary constituency.
