| Description: | The City of El Cajon is currently searching for Entry-Level Candidates, Academy Graduates and Lateral Police Officers to fill several vacancies at the Police Department. The eligibility list resulting from this recruitment will be in effect for a minimum of six months. Education: Educational achievement equivalent to the completion of high school, preferably supplemented by additional college level courses in police science, administration of justice or a related field. Experience: None required. Special Requirements: Possession of or ability to obtain, prior to employment, a valid Class C California driver's license with a safe driving record. Ability to obtain a Basic POST Certificate upon completion of the Police Academy and service requirement. Possession of or ability to obtain an advanced first aid and CPR card. Applicants must be 20-1/2 years old+ on the day of the written examination (mid-May). Applicants must be a U.S. Citizen or a Permanent Resident Alien with an application for U.S. Citizenship. Interested applicants must submit a City application and supplemental questionnaire by 5:00 p.m. on Monday, May 6, 2013. Applications and supplemental questionnaires will be screened and those who meet the minimum qualifications will be invited to participate in the Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Entry-Level Law Enforcement Test Battery (PELLETB), tentatively scheduled during the week of May 13, 2013. |
