| Description: | For over 40 years, the National Women's Law Center has played a role in nearly every major advance for women and girls. Headquartered in Washington, DC, NWLC uses the law in all its forms; getting new laws on the books, litigating groundbreaking lawsuits all the way to the Supreme Court, and educating the public about how to make the law and public policies work for women and their families. NWLC has a current core operating budget of approximately $10 million and a staff of 70. The Vice President for Development and Strategy reports to the NWLC Co-Presidents, and will lead the full range of development strategies and activities including board support, major individual and planned gifts, annual fund, corporate philanthropy, foundation program and capacity-building support, e-philanthropy, and special events. Reporting to the Vice President is a staff of seven Qualifications include: success leading, sustainable development programs embodying the entire range of fundraising strategies/tactics; knowledge of the national philanthropic community; history of cultivating and closing major gifts; experience in an advocacy organization setting; familiarity with the legal community; polished communication skills; an engaging, approachable demeanor; a strong work ethic; a collaborative style; impeccable judgment and integrity; able to manage multiple and shifting priorities; genuinely passionate about the NWLC mission; bachelor's degree required, graduate degree preferred. |
