Job Title: Part-time Relief Receptionist

Description: The National Women's Law Center is seeking a part-time receptionist with strong customer service skills to work three hours in the afternoon, Monday through Friday.

Organization
For four decades, the National Women's Law Center (NWLC) has led the way in expanding possibilities for women and families in the United States. NWLC uses the law in all its forms to protect and advance the progress of women and families at work, in school, and in virtually every aspect of their lives. NWLC takes on the issues that cut to the core of women?s lives in education, employment, family economic security, and health and reproductive rights, with special attention given to the needs of low-income women and their families.

Position Responsibilities
-Operate telephone switchboard to answer, screen, or forward calls, provide information, take messages, and schedule appointments.
-Provide a warm and personable greeting to persons entering NWLC, determine nature and purpose of visit, and direct or escort them to specific destinations.
-Use computer, mail, or facsimile machine to transmit information or documents to staff and customers.
-Perform administrative support tasks, such as preparing memos, correspondence; excel spreadsheets, or other documents. File and maintain records.
-Provide information about NWLC, such as location of departments or offices, and employees within the organization.
-Collect, sort, distribute, and prepare mail, messages, and courier deliveries.
-Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Ideal candidates must have a high school diploma, at least one year of related experience in a busy office environment, excellent telephone etiquette and strong customer service orientation. Proficient with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook, typing and data entry. Candidate must have attention to detail, organization, and the ability to work independently and well under pressure.
