| Description: | Lafarge will provide temporary housing and accommodation services for the internship duration to successful and eligible candidates. The Intern will focus on supporting the day to day Supply Chain and Logistics activities. Assisting team members in performing operational tasks; working with inventory planning and/or warehouse management, cost effective shipments and optimizing supply-chain operations. Students will be interning in Mandeville, LA. Job Qualifications - Be currently enrolled at a 4 year university - Enrollment in a bachelor degree program with an emphasis in Supply Chain and logistics; - Must have taken some course courses either in Logistics, Supply Chain, Project Management, Business Administration - Strong analytical ability to solve problems and ability to learn quickly - Great communication skills and demonstrated strong verbal, written, and presentation skills required - Proficient with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and MS Project Responsibilities - Assist Project Managers in managing shipments to customer sites, tracking orders, shortages, etc - Create and manage excel files - Strong PC skills, excellent communication skills - Ability to work under minimal direction - Zone maps for trucking logistics and supply chain - Assist in establishing freight rates |
