| Description: | The American Association of University Women (AAUW) is a national membership organization, founded in 1881. Our mission is to advance equity for women and girls through advocacy, education, philanthropy, and research. The Social Media Intern will learn how AAUW uses social media to advance our mission and see how the internal online content creation and management processes work. Essential Duties: -Assist in managing AAUW social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, and YouTube. -Write blogs and articles for AAUW's website, as well as text for social media platforms. -Assist in tracking social media metrics. -Assist in coordinating AAUW's online content schedule. -Research and assess new online tools and channels. -Assist in designing and implementing special social media campaigns, including Facebook ad and advocacy-related campaigns. -Answer requests from AAUW members about social media. -Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: -Passionate about women's equality and AAUW's mission -Strong familiarity and comfort with social and new media tools -Proficiency using Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook) -Excellent interpersonal skills, professional demeanor, self-directed and independent -Strong writing skills -Good research skills -Ability to work full time is preferred. -Juniors, seniors, and graduate students preferred Apply: Submit a resume with cover letter detailing your interest and qualifications, along with a relevant writing sample, by e-mail indicating position title to AAUW Human Resources at aauwinternships@aauw.org. |
