| Description: | *Must be Clearable* 2013-1558 The Senior Systems Engineer will be responsible for analyzing, designing, developing, and implementing an enterprise Information Technology solution in support of a new Network Operations Center. They will assist the NW Engineering Team to deploy solutions into a production environment. They must also be able to provide guidance to Tier II NOC Technicians for monitoring and issue resolution in a production environment. Superior customer service skills are required. This position requires the ability to work independently as well as within groups. Sensitivity to accuracy, timeliness, and professionalism in all areas of this support activity is imperative. Responsibilities: -Lead/Work in a team of system engineers to deploy and support a newly established infrastructure within a 12/5 NOC environment -Troubleshoot site impacting issues with LAN Management tools -Evaluate, design, advise, implement and integrate products and controls into various platforms, network devices and systems -Prepare technical designs as well as high-level flowcharts and schematics -Aid in the awareness of standards and best practices, as well as enforcing these standards -Interact directly with the managed network services, alternate support vendors and support groups as directed, to provide a single point of accountability and information relative to outages -Create formal documentation for project planning, system administration, project builds, and Operations and Maintenance -Mentoring and training of junior system administrators assisting them in their technical and professional development -Use existing diagnostic tool or tools that are appropriate for use in diagnosing problems and will also recommend tools to enhance or replace existing tool Qualifications: -Minimum of 8 years of professional IT experience, with a minimum of 3 years direct experience in a systems engineering role. -Experience directing staff in a management or team lead role -Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required -You should possess a good understanding on ITIL and Service Management concepts -Solid understanding and practical use of TCP/IP and related Internet protocols -Can act independently with little supervision -Excellent documentation skills -Excellent communication skills -Must be clearable for a Public Trust Clearance |
