Job Title: Field Coordinator, Raising Women's Voices for the Health Care We Need

Description: The Field Coordinator builds, supports and activates the Raising Women's Voices for the Health Care We Need (RWV) network of advocates working in states and localities to expand and improve access to quality, affordable health care for women and families. As the primary contact for 10-15 RWV regional coordinators engaged in outreach, education and advocacy, the Field Coordinator is responsible for strengthening and expanding the RWV network of advocates in targeted states, as assigned.

Additionally, the Field Coordinator proactively monitors developments in the field, writes for external and internal audiences and represents RWV in coalitions and other public forums. The Field Coordinator reports directly to the National Women's Health Network's Program Director.

We are seeking candidates with a track record of demonstrated success in organizing for social/policy change. Candidates with experience working in the Southeast United States are of particular interest. This is currently a two-year position.

Raising Women's Voices for the Health Care We Need (RWV) is a campaign of the National Women's Health Network, the Black Women's Health Imperative and the MergerWatch Project of Community Catalyst. The Field Coordinator will be based at the National Women's Health Network in Washington, D.C. but will spend significant time in the field, expecting approximately 25 percent travel.

Key duties and responsibilities
-Provides strategic support to RWV coordinators in 10-15 states, as assigned
-Maintains relationships with existing and potential stakeholders and coalition partners
-Tracks developments in Affordable Care Act implementation and other related areas such as health care access, health equity and health care quality
-Takes the lead in developing resource materials for advocacy, education and outreach efforts
-Prepares content for the RWV website, newsletter and social media channels on short deadlines, as well as draft meeting reports, updates and reports for funders
-Identifies emerging issues and opportunities and work with the RWV national leadership team to develop new initiatives
-Represents RWV at conferences, meetings and other public events, as assigned

Qualifications
-Demonstrated success organizing and managing a network of advocates or activists
-Professional experience in women's health, community organizing and health policy
-Experience tracking policy issues at a state or national level
-Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work successfully with internal and external partners
-A self-starter who is able to work in teams as well as work independently and who has a demonstrated ability to problem solve
-Strong written and oral presentation skills
-Attention to detail and capacity to work on multiple high priority tasks and meet deadlines
