National Resources

Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network , The Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network (RAINN) is the nation's largest anti-sexual assault organization.  Among its programs, RAINN created and operates the National Sexual Assault Hotline at 1.800.656.HOPE . This nationwide partnership of more than 1,100 local rape treatment hotlines provides victims of sexual assault with free, confidential services around the clock. The hotline helped 133,000 sexual assault victims in 2004 and has helped more than 900,000 since it began in 1994.

Sexual Assault Training & Investigations (SATI)
SATI provides victim-centered, multi-disciplinary training and expert consultation regarding crimes of sexual assault.

Connecticut Sexual Assault Crisis Services (CONNSACS)
CONNSACS serves as a national clearinghouse for information and resources for victims of sexual assault, as well as a statewide resource for residents of Connecticut. Counseling and information are available from their toll-free hotline at 1-888-999-5545.

Many state agencies have counseling services, provide legal referrals and advocacy, operate community education programs and offer support groups. For more information, please contact RAINN's office at (202) 544-1034 or RAINN's national hotline at 1-800-656-HOPE or check your local phone book under "Rape" or "Sexual Assault."
