The Global Women's Rights Awards are given annually to a select few individuals who have contributed significantly – often against great odds and at great personal risk – to advance the rights of women and girls and to increase awareness of the injustices women face on account of their gender.
For nearly fifteen years, we have been a part of this most remarkable organization and its work for women's rights in the United States and around the world, especially in their efforts to help the women and girls of Afghanistan reclaim their full rights, for which the Feminist Majority Foundation was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize in 2002.
We have seen first-hand the Feminist Majority Foundation's powerful work, and that is why the two of us are honored to serve for a seventh year as the Co-Chairs for the Global Women's Rights Awards. The awards will be presented at a dinner and gala on April 26, 2011 at the Beverly Hills Hotel.
