Take Action Header

The battle for equality never takes a day off. Here are some issues that demand your ongoing attention. Please take action on as many issues as you can!

FM logoAsk US Leaders to Stop Abstinence Only Programs
Urge the President and Congress to stop abstinence only programs that are helping to spread AIDS. Ask them to fight AIDS with science and medicine, not ideology. Condoms must not be an afterthought.

FM logoTell the President to reverse the HHS decision on Plan B!
Tell President Obama to reverse the HHS decision to block FDA approval of Plan B over the counter without an age restriction. Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius took unprecedented action today to overrule the FDA's recommendation. This cannot stand. Women and girls' lives are in the balance.

FM logoTell the Catholic Bishops NO! Women need no-copay birth control!
Please tell President Barack Obama and HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius not to give in to demands from the Conference of Catholic Bishops that would expand the religious exemption and deny birth control coverage with no-copays for millions of women.

FM logoAt 7 Billion Support International Family Planning and Reproductive Health
As the world reaches an historic population of 7 billion people, it is critical that the United States take action to increase funding for international reproductive health and family planning. Globally, 215 million women who want modern contraceptives are being denied access. Ask your Senators and Congressperson to act now.

FM logoNo More Excuses: Rape Kits must be Tested
Each year tens of thousands of individuals report incidents of rape to law enforcement; however, rape has the lowest arrest and prosecution rates of all violent crimes in the United States. Part of the problem is a backlog of untested rape evidence kits. Please make sure the International Association of Chiefs of Police takes a leadership role by publicly and strongly recognizing the importance of testing DNA evidence in rape cases, and by urging their members who are police chiefs to treat this as a priority.

FM logoTell a Friend about the No More Excuses Campaign
Please help share the word about the Feminist Majority Foundation's campaign to REDUCE the backlog of rape evidence kits! We've already been victorious in CHANGING the definition of rape!

FM logoHelp Dr. Carhart and his Embattled Clinic Today
Help keep embattled clinics nationwide, such as Dr. Carhart's clinic, safe and open. Please send half my tax-deductible contribution to Dr. Carhart to help defray extraordinary legal expenses and security cost in the face of Operation Rescue's campaign. The other half will support the Feminist Majority Foundation's efforts to help target clinics nationwide.

FM logoGet Involved with the Women & Climate Change Campaign!
Did you know that the largest generation of young people in human history is about to come of age?  Nearly half the world's population is under the age of twenty five. The decisions they make about family planning will make a huge impact on how many of billions of us there are on this planet, and what resources we have to go around. Experts determine that the first natural resource to be affected by climate change will be water.

FM logoStop for Fake Clinics and Abstinence-Only Education!
Millions of federal dollars fund failed abstinence-only programs and so-called Crisis Pregnancy Centers or “fake clinics.” Congressional studies have shown abstinence only programs don’t work and too often lead young people to question the need for contraception.

Crisis Pregnancy Centers, often advertising under “abortion services” in the yellow pages, pose as full-service women’s health clinics and lure women in with promises of free pregnancy tests and “counseling” for unintended pregnancies.  Contrary to what they want you to believe, these fake clinics repeatedly make false medical claims to dissuade and delay women from obtaining comprehensive medical services, particularly abortion and birth control.
