Literally a "Who's Who"
of the women's rights movement, Feminist EXPO 2000 featured more
than 675 leading feminists from all sectors of society: government,
media, law, health care, arts, politics, business, technology, education,
public service, trade unions, non-profit services, sports, entertainment,
advocacy, religion and philanthropy.

Feminist leaders gather on stage to be honored during the first
General Assembly. Major feminist leaders also spoke on smaller panels
and roundtable discussions. Pictured here are (from left): Mary

Panels and general assemblies let attendees hear from
many experienced feminists at once, and allowed leaders of the women's
rights movement worldwide to interact with one another in an effort
to highlight our acheivements and our struggles, as well as to tackle
topics such as national budgets, rape and sexual assault, access to
reproductive health services, and education.

General Assemblies
Feminist EXPO 2000's four major general assemblies featured the
fight for women's political and economic empowerment, countering
the right-wing backlash and envisioning a feminist future. Young
feminists kicked off the opening general assembly with an uplifting
salute to the trailblazers of the modern feminist movement.
