On Thursday, July 26th, 2007 the Feminist Majority Foundation and Ms. Magazine interns hosted a briefing on the Politics of Women’s Health in the Rayburn House Office, bringing together nearly 100 progressive interns and junior staff. The expert panel addressed the impact of politics surrounding women’s health, both domestically and globally, covering such topics as family planning, comprehensive sex education, the HIV/AIDS epidemic, the HPV virus and vaccine, and the Global Gag Rule. The event was very successful and allowed those in attendance the opportunity to develop strategies to protect women’s health and to learn how they could take action on their college campuses and in their communities.
