We wrote news articles for the Feminist Daily Newswire and blog posts for the Choices Campus blog.

Interns love Harry Potter...and also women in government. We posted news, jobs, and events to the FMF website, tweeted for the various FMF twitter acounts, and helped to update the Ms. Magazine website. We also learned the basics of using Macromedia Fireworks and Dreamweaver to create the intern website you are now viewing.

We helped the campus team with their Get Out Her Vote program, researching voter registration dates and requirements and important ballot initiatives for their informative website. We also assembled packets to send out to Feminist Majority Leadership Alliances on campuses throughout the country.

Our largest global project this term was under a grant which allowed FMF to track PEPFAR funding in Bangladesh and South Africa and its effectiveness to those communities. This involved interviewing in-country people who were familiar with PEPFAR, transcribing, and composing and editing the project results, as well as writing a proposal to extend the grant.

In preparation for the 2010 midterm elections, we assisted with candidate research and email endorsements. We also attended events on the Hill, such as the CEDAW hearing and the Hyde Amendment briefing.

Education Equity
We attended and wrote the follow up report at Clearinghouse on Women’s Issues meetings, and played the role of editor to Sue Klein who is in the process of getting a chapter published on the topic of gender equality in education.
