FMF Projects: Blogging and coding for Feminist Campus

Why are you a feminist? I am a feminist because I want my daughters to live in a world where they have equal pay and equal rights to men, no matter where they choose to go.

What is your favorite spot in DC? Surfside in Glover Park has THE BEST Mexican food. I'm also partial to laying on the National Mall with a good book.

What's your favorite FMF internship memory? I had a blast at the rally for pregnant workers. We rallied outside of the Supreme Court building, and even though it was freezing outside, it was so cool to be able to support such a great feminist cause.

Advice for future FMF interns? Be willing to do tasks that may seem small or inconsequential. These things add up and can really help in the feminist cause.

Charmaine Archer

Hometown: Los Osos, California

College/University and Major: Criminology, Law and Society at UC Irvine

FMF Projects: Coauthoring a report on single-sex education, updating education webpage

Why are you a feminist? I am an intersectional feminist because I believe the only way change is brought on is when people are actively aware of and fight against systems of oppression.

What's your favorite spot in DC? The White House when it's decorated for Christmas.

What's your favorite FMF internship memory? Seeing Gloria Steinem at the Ms Luncheon.

Advice for future FMF interns? Don't be afraid to ask questions and get involved with things that seem out of your comfort zone.
