Erin, Spring 2007

Erin

Erin is currently a senior majoring in English and minoring in women's studies.  She is from Concord , MA but has also lived in Dallas , Tokyo and Chicago. Outside of school she enjoys music, reading, running and exploring DC. Erin is excited to graduate and hopes to continue working in the world of non-profits before going to graduate school.

Why did you decide to intern at FMF?
I decided to intern at FMF because I wanted to work for an organization who's cause I was already passionate about.  I have always felt strongly about women's rights and wanted the chance to explore a career in feminism. 

What does feminism mean to you?
For me, feminism is a vital movement that benefits everyone.  An individual should never be held back or discouraged from living their life in the manner they choose simply because of their gender.  Equality for women around the world can only help societies function more successfully and peacefully.

What are you working on now?
At FMF I work on the Education Equity Project as well as some of the communications for Ms. Magazine.
