Postmenopausal Health Study Needs Volunteers

The National Institutes of Health and the Womens Health Initiative are seeking participants for a study on postmenopausal womens health that could lead to discoveries about preventing heart disease, breast cancer, and other diseases. After three years of recruiting efforts, only 87,782 of the expected 163,500 slots were filled as of November, one year short of the recruitment cut-off. Areas with the most need in women to take or forgo hormones, women over the age of 65 and minority women. Interested women aged 50 to 79 are invited to call 1-800-549-6636.
