California Civil Rights Initiative

Synopsis

Would eliminate all state and local programs that "grant preferential treatment to any individual or group on the basis of race, sex, color, ethnicity, or national origin in the operation of public employment, public education, or public contracting."Exempts gender classifications based on bona fide qualification reasonably necessary to normal operation of the government entity involved.
