The Feminist Majority Leadership Alliance program is galvanizing feminism on campus, say students and faculty who have Leadership Alliances at their colleges or universities. "We hope the Leadership Alliances will change the way progressives and feminists organize on campus," said Eleanor Smeal, paign as well as how to start a Leadership Alliance on their campus and how to organize events. Women and men attending public, private, and community colleges participated, including representatives from Sacramento State University, Portland Community College, University of Massachusetts û Amherst, Wellesley, San Diego State University, Duke University, and Johns Hopkins University. The Leadership Alliances are designed to be a feminist presence on campus, with the backing of a major national women's organization. "Radical religious right groups pour massive resources into campus organizing," Smeal pointed out. "Yet most students are liberal and feminist. The Feminist Majority Foundation is offering students an alternative." For more information about starting a Feminist Majority Leadership Alliance on your campus, send e-mail to femmaj@feminist.org.
