The Feminist Majority Foundation Online () received a 5-star rating (the highest rating) from Luckman Interactive, which produces the Official Interactive World Wide Web Yellow Pages. The rating was based on comprehensiveness of content; visual appeal; and ease of exploration. Our popular site, which now receives 25,000 - 30,000 "hits" each day, has also won numerous other awards, including a Platinum Award from NetGuide; Best Overall Nonprofit Website from the Non-Profits Online Conference; PC Magazine's Top 100 Sites and the Top 5% of the Web, PCMag's Top 100 sites for July 1996, the Cool Site of the Day, and more. The Feminist Majority Foundation Online was also awarded "Best Non-Profit Women's Site" within five days of its World Wide Web Debut in September 1995. Featured in a New York Times OnLine article, "Sisterhood Online," the Feminist Majority Foundation site was praised as a critical research and action resource for women. Commenting on the potential of the Internet in women's rights organizing, Feminist Majority Foundation President Eleanor Smeal said, "It could speed up the advancement of women by cutting off a century or so. You are literally able to reach people with ideas at the remote ends of the earth - and remember, this movement has spread through ideas, ideas founded on important research." The Feminist Majority Foundation Online is an extensive site with Daily Feminist News Monday to Friday, Take Action items and a feminist events calendar. In our new Reproductive Rights section, find facts, articles, and press releases on clinic violence and mifepristone (formerly known as RU 486) as well as links to other sites with information on abortion rights, reproductive health, contraception, and international reproductive rights. In our 911 for Women section, which we know has already saved at least one woman's life, find hotlines, resources, facts on domestic violence, sexual assault and rape, sexual harassment, and breast cancer. Feminists looking for employment can also look through our jobs and internships directories in our Feminist Career Center, and post their resume. Our Feminist Online Store has a new look and new products including feminist mugs and mousepads. Also find a number of gifts for young feminists, a collection of books and other gifts for feminists of all ages, Rock for Choice products, and a whole section on feminist mystery novels in our Feminist Mystery Corner. Don't miss other features such as our new Women & Girls in Sports section, the Feminist Budget Center, and the Affirmative Action Information Center. Also for those in academia, students and faculty and staff can sign up for our Feminist University Network and locate other feminists with similar research and organizing interests. The site includes up-to-the-minute Feminist Majority and Feminist Majority Foundation information including press releases, our annual Clinic Violence Surveys, and audio sessions from the 1996 Expo for Women's Empowerment.
