The Future of Expanded Abortion Access - Mifepristone

Mifepristone--formerly known as RU486, the French abortion pill--is a medication that can be used for safe and effective early abortion. Mifepristone may also be effective in treating fibroid tumors, endometriosis, Cushing's Syndrome, meningiomas, some breast and ovarian cancers, and a myriad of other medical conditions that primarily affect women.

President-elect Bush has already stated that he thinks the approval of mifepristone was "wrong," signaling a potentially perilous future for mifepristone.
